Quartet History |
VocalWorks is a second generation Barbershop Quartet that owes a great deal to our barbershop dads, dads-in-law, and uncles who introduced us to this great hobby.
In our time together, we've been fortunate enough to place as high as second at the Evergreen District Quartet Competition (US Pacific Northwest and Western Canada) as well as to win the Evergreen District Division 1 title five times. VocalWorks has appeared at numerous events and have been invited to headline Barbershop Harmony Society chapter shows in six provinces and states. We are honoured to travel to Finland in 2006 to represent the Barbershop Harmony Society at the Vaasa Choir Festival as well as perform at various other venues in and around Helsinki. VocalWorks conducts workshops for high school students, teachers, and barbershoppers.
VocalWorks has had the privilege of taping an episode of the Chris Isaak Show which appeared on Showtime in the USA and Much More Music in Canada. Also, VocalWorks has performed as four barnyard voices in the hit animation series Yakkity Yak, which appears on Teletoon in Canada.
We have recently recorded a self-titled studio CD featuring our most requested and favourite songs.
VocalWorks has also been thrilled to sing the National Anthems at a number of Vancouver Canucks (NHL) and Grizzly (NBA) games, and Vancouver Canadian baseball games as well.
VocalWorks has eleven kids, three step-kids, four wives, two ex-wives, two cats, one ferret, three outfits, and no debt.
