Mission

The mission of the Tacoma Barbershop Harmony (Tacoma Totem-Aires) chapter is to promote and perpetuate the barbershop harmony style of singing in the greater Tacoma, Washington area. Encourage the educational development of our members through the techniques of singing four part barbershop a cappella music.  Promote public awareness and appreciation of barbershop harmony by producing one or more shows yearly.

 

Vision 

Develop an understanding of quartet and chorus singing within the chapter not just as a craft but rather the development of the craft to communicate human feeling to others.

 

Values

Understanding the benefits obtained from barbershop harmony singing that contribute to feeling better with oneself, his fellow chapter members, and the community.

 

Goals

Strive for musical excellence in our chapter chorus and quartets. The chorus and quartets learning how to actualize barbershop show performance expectations.

 

Objectives

Provide community service to Tacoma, Washington by singing for paid and free performances as a chapter chorus and quartets. Donating performances to charitable organization functions. Attend and compete in contests.
