Judges ArrangementJudges Arrangement including Connie, Phil, Chris & Brian did a wonderful job of loosening up the Friday night crown with their rendition of Aura Lee - complete with their own arranged TAG.  Damn glad they weren't competing!

Highway 2 Four sing to the Front Desk StaffThey sure liked our songs!Highway 2 Four found a few fans at the front desk of the Red Deer Lodge.

Spruce Grove read the Contest ResultsConnie Ccoaching Red Deer after contestAfter the contest, evaluations were attended by competitors - valuable coaching from some of the best in the society.  Here, Connie gives Red Deer chapter some valuable instruction on lyrical flow.  Next, Howard reviews the results for the Spruce Grove chapter with some of the guys looking on.

I spent some time in one chorus evaluation - the other one I was to attend was scheduled for the same time, but I trust the director will review the comments at weekly chapter.

Lunch after Chorus ContestScores on the tablesFolks get together from all overThis gal served up as much soup as anyone wantedLunch at the Living Stones Church was soup, sandwich and chat with folks we don't get a chance to see too often.   Some of the lunch topics included who is singing with whom, who's going to the retreat in the fall in Lethbridge, Where's Lyle?

Some of About Face Getting ReadyGetting ready for contest as a quartet usually means a minor costume change.  I did my share - Harmonizers, Grove City, Highway 2 Four, About Face, Harmonizers, Grove City, About Face and finally, casual for the afterglow.  Somewhere, I lost an outfit in the change room...  Anyone find a vest and bow tie?  Let me know...

Mic Testers warming upMic Testers made up of a couple of Stampeeders, a director and a Harmonizer.  That's the way it should be!

Another expectation is the continuous laughs provided by BRASS.  It's a treat to see them in performance, but they're equally welcome as chapter or quartet coaches and Standing Ovation evaluators.

During the weekend, we helped Al Knight celebrate his 85th Birthday. Al is a charter member of The Stampede City Chorus and a mentor to many in the Division and District. Mike Lanctot made a point of confirming with Al all the wonderful things he has done for our hobby - including coaching and judging.

Late in the LobbyThe Last Song of the night in the lobby.  (Who would sing past 3:30 anyway?!!!)
About Face & Hospitality Singers are champs in the Contest but all of us are champs at the convention.  Thanks to all who made it happen and to all who offered their congratulations - it's really appreciated!
