First Place - About
Face
Ken - Tenor, Lyle - Bass,
Bruce - Bari, Mark - Lead
A unique idea - representing three chapters in Alberta,
this Quartet gives some sense of togetherness to a great part of this
Division. Three and a half weeks before competition, Lyle from Edmonton,
Bruce & Ken from Red Deer, and Mark from Calgary got together to explore
the combination and consider entering the Division III Contest.
Just two songs, they said... After 5 rehearsals,
they were as ready as they could be, but it has turned out to be only
the beginning!
They are delighted with their personality matches, their
ability to lock chords together and the potential they have with practice
and coaching. They're "Wild About Anchorage" (Motto for District
Convention)

Second Place
- In the Groove
The lead was the original lead and it's been a reunion
of sorts for this foursome. As usual, a very smooth and appealing
sound. Congratulations guys! |
 |
Third Place
- River City Junction
A very energetic "collegiate" sound. Pleasant
to listen to and entertaining to watch. Keep an eye out for these
guys. |

Jack Green, a long-time
member of the Red Deer chapter was a most enthusiastic supporter
of Barbershop Quartetting. In his memory, a Quartet will continue
his enthusiasm by performing and competing within Division
III and perhaps throughout the District.
This year, Lorie, Howard, John & Stan performed the inaugural
duties in the name of 4 Jacks. To encourage Quartetting within the
Division, new members from other chapters are encouraged to sign
up to sing in this Quartet.
