Ontario District   2004 Fall Contest
Lyle picks a great time for a trip "Back Home"

Scotty works with the vocal fine tuning and June works with the big picture
Monday night, and I have two choices - Toronto or Greater Toronto - I wound up in Megacity
       

Roadshow Tuesday 		  I get to direct the Roadshow again  
Tuesday night - a different tone - not competing, but still doing the things tat make Roadshow a part of the barbershop scene in the golden horseshoe
         

Harbour Town Wednesday 		  OK, I can still keep up with these guys...  
Wednesday - my first chance to hear the award-winning Hamilton chorus - after barely a year together. Great sound and lots of desire and potential.
         

Friday Brantford 		  It's always a treat to sing with these fine folks!  
Always a treat to sing with some of the best ol farts in Ontario. Man, these guys can sing up a storm!
         

MegaCity Warm up 		  MegaCitydoes some pre-contest thinking  
OK, getting ready for the contest set, Megacity do some last-minute preparation before going over to the Sanderson Centre. My second favourite part of a contest.
         

Saturday Chorus 		  the great Dukes of Harmony - celebrating a 50th with 200 on stage and 200 more in their hearts  
A real treat - can you feel the light? 200 on stage each with a card with a name of a departed Duke - representing all the Dukes through the 50 year history of this internationally famous chorus.
         

Saturday Dinner 		  Hey, is singing permitted in these restaurants?  
Many of the choruses went for a dinner prior to the big Saturday night show. I went6 to my hotel and found a bunch of guys singing up a storm over dinner
         

Saturday Quartet 		  Can I sing in the lobby?  
This is the show we're all waiting for. Will the FIXX (not) win? No matter who sings, it all sounds so wonderful in the Sanderson Centre. Great venue!
         

Afterglows 		  Singing in the stair wells until 6:00 a.m.  
My favourite part of any contest - the after-afterglow and singing in all corners of the hotel until sun-up. It is getting easier to both stay sober and to avoid the house dick these days.
