Who are the Voices of Harmony?

The Voices of Harmony are a group of men committed to performing inspiring a cappella music in the barbershop style. We perform without a musical director in front of the chorus. To make this work for us we place a high degree of personal responsibility on our members. We routinely schedule world class clinicians and coaches to provide instruction in singing and performance.

We intend to become the premier male vocal ensemble in the Pacific Northwest, by achieving excellence in Barbershop Harmony Society Contests. Our evenings are a unique mixture of attention to detail, laughter, and fellowship. We support and encourage the development of our quartets by providing them rehearsal time and coaching on chorus nights.

We are proud to have won the first Very Large Quartet contest during the Division One Convention and Contest in Abbotsford on April 5^th 2008. We are also proud to have the members of West Coast Fusion, the Division One Championship Quartet, in our ranks.

Our members live in the communities of Abbotsford, Aldergrove, Bellingham, Burnaby, Chilliwack, Maple Ridge, and Port Moody.

Where can I hear some Barbershop?

The Voices of Harmony meet at 7:00 pm most every Wednesday night. Guests are always welcome, so make it a point to stop by! For a map showing the rehearsal location where we usually meet, just click "Where We Meet." Come for a visit, sing with us or just sit and listen for what we think you will find is a most enjoyable and rewarding evening.

Although the Barbershop Harmony Society is a North American organization and barbershop harmony is an American art form, it is never the less enjoyed globally.

Mission Statement

The Abbotsford Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society shall provide inspiring musical performances for the audiences as well as cultural enrichment for the community by fostering appreciation of the barbershop harmony style.

In addition, this Chapter shall provide a vehicle for fellowship, personal development and fulfillment for its membership and initiate, promote and participate in charitable projects in the Abbotsford community and of the Society to which it belongs.
