DIRECTOR

In 2006, Kevin Robertson was made the Director of the Stampede City Chorus.

The history with the Stampede City Chorus for various Robertsons goes back to Kevin's grandfather Alex and father Don who started singing with the chorus in the mid 70's.  Kevin started singing with SCC in 1975 at the age of 13 and continued to sing with the chorus until 1979 when he left the city to attend university.  After a few years away from barbershopping and 7 years as a church choir Director in Edmonton, Kevin rejoined the hobby in Winnipeg singing with the Golden Chordsmen.  Kevin returned to Calgary and the Stampede City Chorus in 2001 and progressed from Assistant Director to Co-Director with Chris van der Baaren to his current role as Director.  Kevin's brother, Doug, and nephew, Michael, are currently part of the chorus.

As Director, Kevin plays a key role in the selection and teaching of music, recording of learning tapes for the chorus to use, designing stage presence, writing show scripts, and previously as webmaster for the chorus website.  In addition to his work in front of the chorus, Kevin also sings Baritone in the quartet, TRADEMARK, the 2006 Division III (Alberta) Quartet Champions.  When not immersed in music, Kevin is a professional engineer who works for Gienow Windows & Doors as Production Control Manager.
