2005 Evergreen District Convention

September 30 - October 1, 2005

LADIES BREAKFAST:

The Ladies Breakfast will be held on Saturday morning from 8:00am-9:00am in the Chinook Restaurant at The Bay.  While chorus competitors and participants in the Joe Barbershop Chorus are getting ready to sing at the Jubilee Auditorium, a $12 CDN ticket give you a chance to win a $500 shopping spree at The Bay.  Very special entertainment has been arranged for your enjoyment.

To get to the Ladies Breakfast, come out of the south doors of the Hyatt beside Sandstone Lounge, turn right and walk one block along Stephen's Avenue to 1st Street West.  Turn right and walk one block north to the entrance at the corner of 1st Street West and the LRT line (7th Ave) where you will be let in with your ticket to the event when the doors open at 8:00am.  The Chinook Restaurant is on the 6th Floor and can accessed by escalator or elevators in the store. 

TAG SINGING ROOM:

On the meeting room/ballroom level of the Hyatt Regency, a room will be available throughout the weekend to give you additional opportunities to sing.  Tag Books edited by David Wright and used for Harmony College Tag Singing Classes will be available so that you can find three other parts and ring a few chords.  Bring a pitchpipe and come do some singing!

JOE BARBERSHOP CHORUS - Directed by Charlie Metzger:

All attendees who will not be competing in the chorus contest get an opportunity to sing on the Contest Stage on Saturday morning as part of the Joe Barbershop Chorus which will be Mic Testers for the Chorus Contest.  Plan on getting to the Jubilee Auditorium and being ready to sing by 8:30am.  The songs that will be sung are: "Shine on Me" and "Sweet and Lovely" from the Polecat books.  The Joe Barbershop Chorus will be directed by Charlie Metzger, Society Coach and former Director of the Gentleman of Fortune.  After you sing with the Joe Barbershop Chorus, you will be able to go into the Auditorium to listen to the rest of the Chorus Contest.

Dress for the Joe Barbershop Chorus is your chorus' casual dress uniform (shirt with logo or chorus colors) OR a solid color dress shirt, black pants, black shoes, black socks, and smile.
