The Rocky Mouintainaires is a men's barbershop harmony chorus located in Missoula, MT.  You may have heard us sing on one of our annual spring cabaret shows, at a community gathering in Missoula or the Bitterroot, or at the county fair while selling Tater Pigs.   We like to sing up-tempo songs, ballads (especially love songs), great standard tunes, jazz and gospel, tunes  that tell a story and put a smile on the faces of our audiences.  If you are interested in singing with the chorus, engaging us to sing at an event, or curious about what we do and how we do it, then please check us out.    Interested in being in a quartet?   In singing other music too like doo-wop or jazz?   Here's a place to find those interested in what you're interested in.

Members-- The Rocky Mountainaires Chorus is one of 812 official chapters of The Barbershop Harmony Society, a U.S. based, but worldwide association of barbershop style choruses and quartets.  The chorus currently numbers between twenty and twenty-five active members with a goal to double that number over the next few years.

Our Director--
The chorus is under the very capable direction of Donna Grinde, a long time member of the Sweet Adelines International women's barbershop style singing organization.  She is now also a full fledged member of our society too.  Donna brings with her a ton of energy, and very creative arrangements and styles that impact every rehearsal and performance.  The chorus is very fortunate to have such a dynamic, talented director as Donna.

Serious and Fun--  Yes, we can be both and the guys definitely have fun, particularly when the chorus is singing well and everyone is energized.   Our goal is to sing good music and sing it well.   That's when audiences really enjoy what we do.  We are serious about having a good time singing and that means being serious about good singing.

Performances--  Each year the chorus presents a stage show, usually in May.  The chorus is the main draw, but we feature many local talented performers.  Guest singers, quartets, and instrumentalists.    In addition, throughout the year,  we perform in the Missoula area, the Bitterroot Valley, and even in the Polson area.  At community gatherings, conventions, meetings, banquets-- you name it.

Non-profit Support--  The Rocky Mountainaires is a non-profit organization and we use some of our income to support youth musicians and musical groups in the form of scholarships and grants.  Our sources of income are the Tater Pig booth at the annual county fair in Missoula, and our annual show.
