What is It?
It is a cooperative program between the Bud Leabo Memorial Fund (BLMF)
and Quartet Champions Evergreen District (QCED) designed to improve the
quality of a chorus’s singing through coaching assigned by QCED.
How Does It Work?
1. If a chapter is interested in receiving coaching through this program they
should have their chapter counselor complete the Chapter Survey Form.
2. The Chapter Counselor will forward the form to the District Director-
CSLT who may provide additional comments. The form will then be
forwarded to the chairman of the BLMF. As the BLMF will be covering the out-of-pocket expenses of the coach (travel, meals, lodging, etc.)
there is a necessity for this step. The form is then forwarded to a
representative of QCED who will assign the coach deemed to be most
appropriate for the chorus needs identified on the form.
3. The coaching will usually occur as a weekend workshop. (There may be
an opportunity for individual quartets to receive coaching on Friday
evening. This is something to be worked out by the coach and quartet(s).
It is possible the coach would expect to be compensated for his time.)
The chorus could opt to have an evening show, if they desire to do so.
4. The Chapter will be responsible for providing the venue, beverages and
snacks. As note above the BLMF will cover the expenses of the coach.
The Chapter may offer a token of appreciation to the coach and may host
the coach at a member’s home.
5. Appropriate meal and health breaks should be considered in planning the
session.
6. Should a neighboring Chapter seek to join the session the BLMF would
supply two (2) coaches, if available. All the above would remain the
same.
7. The Chapter would need to provide a contact for the event to coordinate
details between QCED, BLMF and the coach.
8. Priority consideration will be given to chapters who have not
recently attended a division or district contest, or due to logistics or
finances have had difficulty in receiving quality coaching.
